Eyam

We hiked to the village of Eyam, through fields and over stiles in the sunshine!

Once we got there we had our lunch and played in the park.

Then we visited Eyam Museum and found out all about how in the 17th Century the villagers set an extraordinary and enduring example of self-sacrifice by sealing off the village from the surrounding areas to prevent the plague from spreading.

Afterwards we enjoyed an ice cream before hiking back to the Nightingale Centre in the wind and torrential rain!
