Liverpool Maths Party!
On Friday 7th July we joined in with celebrations across Liverpool for the Liverpool Maths Party 2017. In Year 1 we did the '100 colours 100 square challenge' where we had to try to paint each square of a large 100 grid in a different shade. We experimented with colour mixing and when we were finished we added on our numbers. Now we can use it for all sorts of games and activties in class! We also had lots of fun exploring 2D shapes and rotation in our animal tangrams activity.
Bean planting investigation!
In Science we are learning all about plants. We are investigating what plants need to grow by planting our own bean plants. We are going to sketch our bean plants as they grow each week this half term and will discuss our observations. We check and water them every day and are very exctied to see what happens. Here we are carefully planting our beans...
