We went on a Christmas Journey to find out how God kept his promise to rescue the world after men spoiled his beautiful creation. First, we visited Mary in her kitchen. She was baking bread and she let us try some. Then an angel appeared and told Mary she was going to have a special baby called Jesus, who would be God's own son.
After that, we went to a field just outside Bethlehem. We became the shepherds watching over the sheep. Suddenly the angel appeared again and told us that a baby king had been born and that we should travel to Bethlehem to see him in a stable.
When we got to the stable we found the baby king lying in a manger. The animals told us what had happened.
Next, we found ourselves in a king's Palace. These kings were very wise and studied the stars. A new star told the kings that something extraordinary had happened and that they should follow the star to find a special king. Some of us dressed up as kings and we packed some toys for the baby. We also took some special gifts, which were gold, frankincense and myrrh.
Finally, we found out how God's son put the rescue plan into action. Jesus told stories to help people understand how much God cared for them. He healed people and performed amazing miracles. In the end, he was crucified because people felt jealous of him. But that was all part of God's rescue plan. He gave us his only son who died so that we could be rescued from all the things we've done wrong. Every Christmas we remember the greatest gift of all - Jesus!
