Mental Health & Wellbeing

At our school, we believe that every child deserves to feel known, supported, and understood. Our inclusive ethos, rooted in our values of fellowship, respect, hope, forgiveness, wisdom, and compassion, drives our dedication to the spiritual and emotional growth of every pupil under the guidance of God and the teachings of Jesus.

We recognise that emotional and mental wellbeing is foundational to academic success, positive attitudes to learning, and consistent attendance. To move beyond general pastoral care, we have embedded a proactive, systematic approach to Mental Health and Wellbeing (MHWB) across our school.

A Proactive, Data-Informed Approach

We have transitioned from awareness to action by implementing a Whole-School Mental Health and Wellbeing Register. This framework allows us to identify needs early and provide coordinated, timely support through:

  • Pupil Voice: We regularly gather insights directly from our pupils using validated screening tools, including child voice surveys and emotional health questionnaires developed by the Child Outcomes Research Consortium (CORC).

  • Systematic Review: Our dedicated team—including the SENCO, Senior Mental Health Lead (SMHL), PSHE Lead, and class teachers—meets half-termly to review pupil wellbeing data and agree on necessary support.

  • Targeted Support: Using a RAG (Red, Amber, Green) rating system, we ensure that support is visible, accessible, and tailored to the specific needs of each child, ranging from universal classroom provision to targeted external interventions.

How We Support You and Your Child

We believe in a partnership with our families to promote positive mental health. Our dedicated Pastoral Team is here to help. Please reach out if you feel you would benefit from some direct work from one of our pastoral team for support with useful ideas, tips, and links to support the mental health of both your children and yourselves.
