Sukkot models

Today we made a model of a Jewish Sukkot.

Sukkot is a Jewish Harvest Festival.

Jewish people make a hut outside and they live in it for a week.

The hut does not have a proper roof. Instead it had branches and plants.

The reason for this is that the Jewish people are being reminded of the time that they spent wandering in the desert after their escape from Egypt.

The Jewish people like to be able to see the moon and the stars through the roof of their sukkot. They think about how God looked after them in the desert.
